RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Palestinian Bar Association declared the launch of the international campaign to prosecute Israeli officials for committing war crimes and massacres in Gaza.
The international campaign declared its intention to hold Israel accountable at the International Criminal Court for its challenge to and violation of the international law and conventions.
In early August, the Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki confirmed that there is clear evidence of war crimes committed by Israel amounting to crimes against humanity.
Following his meeting with prosecutors at the International Criminal Court, al-Malki said the Palestinian Authority was making efforts to have Palestine become a member of the court.
The United Nations has earlier opened an investigation into human rights violations committed by Israel during its military offensive on Gaza.
The Palestinian resistance reached an agreement Tuesday with Israel on a permanent ceasefire for the Gaza Strip under Egyptian mediation after more than 50 days of Israel’s barbaric aggression.

Examining international legal authorities such as the Genocide Convention, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Court of Justice, the article demonstrates that groups which are being subjected to genocide have a legal right of self-defense. International treaties, Security Council arms embargoes, or national gun control laws cannot lawfully be enforced in a manner which prevents self-defense resistance to a genocide in progress, because under international law, the prohibition against any form of complicity in genocide takes legal precedence over lesser laws.
