A senior Hunter Health Services Union official has denied being aligned with suspended HSU boss Michael Williamson.

The ABC has been told HSU Hunter organiser Bob Hull is part of a ticket organised by Mr Williamson for when a new election is called for executives.

Until yesterday Mr Hull was the Acting Assistant Divisional Secretary of the embattled HSU East Branch.

Mr Hull says there is no ticket.

“Michael Williamson doesn’t have the ability to anoint anyone and he certainly has not done that to me,” he said.

But Mr Hull says others have approached him to be a contender at a new election.

“There are a number of current officials of the Union who have asked me to consider standing and I’ve indicated to them that I will consider that but only at that point in time when there is some call for an election,” he said.

Mr Hull says Mr Williamson is keen to put his union days behind him.

“Michael has clearly indicated that he’s out of here and won’t be running himself in any election if there is to be one called,” he said.

“His passing comment was I’m now going to start the next phase of my life and it won’t be within the HSU.”

Any fresh elections would need to be ordered by union’s administrator.
