But Mr Mubarak’s lawyer, Farid al-Deeb, quoted him as saying that his former army colleagues were “trying to kill him”.
“He says: ‘They want to kill me. Save me, Mr Farid, find me a solution’,” Mr al-Deeb told the AFP news agency.
