Holden’s new Colorado light commercial vehicle has won the highest safety rating awarded by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).
The new model, launched locally last month, features stability control and anti-lock brakes as well as driver, passenger and curtain airbags as standard safety equipment.
Holden’s executive director of sales, marketing and after sales, John Elsworth, said the five star ANCAP assessment was more important considering modern light commercial vehicles often doubled as family transport on the weekends.
“Colorado has earned a well-deserved reputation as a hardworking, solid, safe and reliable light commercial vehicle and this announcement will further enhance that status,” he said.
ANCAP chairman Lauchlan McIntosh said it was satisfying to see car manufacturers lifting the safety standards of light commercial vehicles.
