NEW YORK (AP) — Two Americans charged with being part of a hacker group that launched attacks on big corporations, media outlets and government agencies came from families with their share of discord.
Neighbors of New York hacker Hector Xavier Monsegur say he was raising his two young nieces after his father and an aunt were jailed for drug dealing.
The mother of Chicago hacker Jeremy Hammond says her son wants to end capitalism. She and Hammond’s father split up when he was a child.
Monsegur and Hammond have acknowledged hacking.
