Gunshots heard before Sydney factory fire

Police are investigating a factory fire in southwest Sydney that started shortly after gunshots were heard.

Neighbours reported hearing gunshots and seeing a silver car speeding away from the factory in Greenacre about 2.40am on Friday.

Smoke was seen coming from one of the factory’s windows, police said.

After the fire was extinguished police found a number of bullet cartridges on the road and fire damage to one corner of the factory.

A burnt-out silver Nissan Pulsar was later found in Claremont Avenue, Bankstown.

Anyone who saw a silver Nissan Pulsar being driven in Greenacre or Bankstown between 2am and 3.30am is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
