A man armed with a pistol has robbed a cake shop in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The gunman burst into the business in Albion Street, Waverley, about 2.40pm (AEST) on Friday and threatened the female shopkeeper.
He punched her in the face and grabbed cash from the till before fleeing along Hooper Street.
Police say the gunman was Caucasian, aged in his 20s and was wearing a grey hooded top.
Meanwhile, two men armed with an axe and a machete have robbed a pizza shop in Sydney’s west.
The pair threatened staff at the shop in Oxford Street, Cambridge Park, about 11.20pm (AEST) on Friday.
They were given a quantity of cash and fled on foot.
