FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda I think Mr. Barletta is a bellweather for the Republican party right now. He has dared to speak what his platoon of pig blinkered bigots in the tea party actually think. I believe in politics, that’s called a faux pas.
Really wanna do something about immigration from our southern border? Arrest the CEOs of Con-Agra, Tyson, Hormel, ADM, Monsanto and the various other industrial farming corporations…. Lock them in jail and tell them when their plants and fields and warehouses are staffed by certifiably legal workers and that henceforth all new hires will be verified as legal to work….. Then they can get out of the slammer. The border with Mexico will as quiet as a church on Monday the next day.
Those immigrants are here because they’ve been invited. They have jobs because those who are responsible to verify legal status, don’t. They work because an illegal can more easily be exploited and cheated ripped off with impunity. They can be paid wages below the minimum and have no recourse to register a legal complaint against unscrupulous contractors. They are here because as any thoroughgoing capitalist will tell you; supply and demand. The greater the supply, the lower the price of the “commodity”, when wages fall at the bottom they drag down the levels above. And having immigrants around to scapegoat is as American as a picnic on the 4th of July. Invite them here to work, to drive down domestic wages, then demonize them. Nice trick.
And how much do these below the radar workers contribute to programs like SSI with zero prospect of ever recovering so much as a dime of that money? How much is the solvency of the SS trust fund dependent on funds contributed by undocumented workers that cannot make a claim to that fund?
