GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Newt Gingrich is thanking South Carolina voters for his victory in the state’s primary — via Twitter.
Gingrich sent a tweet minutes after the race was called on Saturday night. He is outpacing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Texas Rep. Ron Paul.
The former House speaker says he wants to deliver a “knockout punch” in Florida. He is also asking voters to help him raise money and refers his followers to a campaign Web site.
Gingrich is scheduled to speak in South Carolina later tonight.
