Ghislane Maxwell’s Attorney Refers to “Former Astronaut Senator” Who Flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s Lolita Express

On the first day of the federal sex trafficking trial of former Jeffrey Epstein “madame” Ghislane Maxwell, defense attorney Bobbi Sternheim referred to a former astronaut turned US Senator who had flown on Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous “Lolita Express” private plane.

There are five astronauts who later became US Senators, and more who have been elected to the House of Representatives. This list includes now-deceased John Glenn (R-OH), Harrison “Jack” Schmitt (R-NM), Jake Garn, (R-UT), Bill Nelson (D-FL), and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), the latter being the only among the small group currently serving in the Senate. Sternheim didn’t elaborate on which specific Senator had traveled with Epstein. All four men had flown in space and obtained fame and publicity by the time Epstein began his trafficking operations in earnest in the 1990’s. Nelson was defeated by Republican Rick Scott in the 2018 midterms.

Responding to a request for comment on the matter, representatives for Senator Kelly indicated that the Arizona Democrat has never met either Epstein or Maxwell or flown on Epstein’s plane.

Epstein was known to transport underage girls for sex trafficking purposes to his Little Saint James sex crimes facility in the US Virgin Islands. Democrat oligarch Bill Clinton is known to have flown on the plane with Epstein, with three credible witnesses- including one longtime Clinton aide- indicating that the former US president traveled to Little Saint James with Epstein.

The first state witness in the federal trial is former Epstein pilot Larry Visoski. Maxwell has plead not guilty in the matter, with her attorneys making the argument that she’s being blamed Epstein sex trafficking activities she had no involvement in.

Legal analysts have speculated that the Maxwell trial would result in the cooperation of wealthy, powerful and influential people in Epstein’s trafficking ring being exposed. Epstein generally preferred the company of Democrat politicians, and his campaign donations heavily skewed towards the party.
