Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Spokesman of the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza Strip Iyad al-Bozom denied on Monday claims that ISIS members receives treatment in Gaza hospitals.
Coordinator of Israel Government Activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territories Major General Yoav Mordechai claimed early on Monday that ISIS members in Sinai Peninsula had received medical treatment in Gaza hospitals.
“We have received authenticated reports that ISIS members in Sinai entered the Gaza Strip through tunnels in order to receive treatment at Hamas hospitals,” Mordechai said.
Commenting on the remarks of the Israeli official, the Palestinian interior ministry spokesman said: “The Israeli occupation claims regarding the wounded from Sinai who receives medical treatment at Gaza hospitals are fake and had nothing to deal with reality.”
Al-Bozom noted that such remarks aimed to “incite against the Gaza Strip, severe the relations with Egypt and find a pretext to tighten the siege.”
The spokesman stressed that the Palestinian National Security Service does not allow “any attempt to undermine the safety and security of the border area with Egypt.”
Since 2006, Israeli occupation, assisted by Egypt and backed by the international community has been imposing a strict siege on Gaza in order to undermine the rule of the freely-elected Hamas movement.
Two years after the start of the siege, Gazans dug tunnels between Gaza and Sinai and started to smuggle their basic livelihoods.
In an effort to mobilise international support for Egypt’s crackdown on the tunnels, the Israeli occupation and the Egyptian coup government have been spreading claims that these tunnels had been used to smuggle weapons to Gaza and now they claim they are being used to smuggle ISIS members to Gaza.
