Gay couple’s son removed on abuse fears

A gay Queensland couple accused of being part of an international pedophile ring have had their six-year-old son taken by child protection workers.

The boy was removed in Los Angeles the day after their home in Cairns was searched by Queensland police in October, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The FBI is also investigating allegations one of the men has sexually abused the boy, and that both exploited him through child pornography.

The men claim they are innocent of any child abuse and say they have been targeted because three of their friends turned out to be child pornographers — something of which they were unaware.

The three friends from the US, New Zealand and Germany have all been charged in the past year with child pornography offences.

“These are three people out of 20 people we know,” they were quoted as saying.

“You never know who you pick.”

The New Zealander allegedly filmed the child “speaking in a sexual and profane manner” as he partially undresses.

In another video seized by authorities, the boy is seen watching a pornographic film with another child.

The couple and their son were pulled over by police on a Los Angeles freeway hours after Queensland police removed computers and documents from their home in Cairns.

The couple had the boy with a surrogate mother in Russia before moving to Australia.
