Greg Gutfeld interrupted The Five with his song as he apparently did not realise they were back from a commercial break.
“I gotta pee. I gotta peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” Gutfeld, who is getting his own show on the right-wing channel in April, sang aloud.
He was quickly made aware that they were still live by host Jesse Walters, who told him, “You’re on the air.”
The group all laughed and quickly moved on, but later in the show Gutfeld circled back to his mistake.
“For some reason, I got unplugged,” he said.
And after the show finished he addressed it on Twitter.
“Yes, I peed,” he tweeted.
“If you cannot tell the other late night shows apart, join the club. They’re as bland as string cheese and not nearly as appetising,” Gutfeld said when the show was announced.
“It’s the same jokes, the same assumptions, probably the same writers, all reading the same columns from the same hacks in the New York Times. So we aren’t going to be like them.”
The Independent has asked Fox News for comment after the moment became popular on social media.
“Hahaha. Nice vocals on the pee song. Loved your reaction. Keeping it real as always,” said @mikewx1960 on Twitter.
“I think you misunderstood. He was happy cause he just heard he qualified for a PPP loan,” tweeted @boblyons.
