‘Flytilla’ set for mass-visit to Palestine

Organizers of the “flytilla” to Palestine have scheduled a gathering at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

The “Welcome to Palestine 2012” campaigners also plan to leave Tel Aviv for the West Bank city of Bethlehem as well as other Palestinian cities in the territory.

Activists from Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the United States will be participating in the flytilla of Welcome to Palestine 2012.

However, Israeli police sources have threatened that the regime’s security forces are prepared to intercept the activists at the airport, claiming that they would “cause a public disturbance.”

This is not the first flytilla heading for the occupied Palestinian land.

In July 2011, Israeli authorities made intense efforts to interrupt the first flytilla and arrested a number of activists. Several European countries also prohibited activists from boarding their flights as the Tel Aviv regime had already blacklisted them.

One of the members of the 2011 first flytilla told Press TV on Wednesday that Israeli authorities detained her for five days after she refused to return to France.

Israeli officials have blatantly threatened that Welcome to Palestine 2012 will be deported and that the activists will not be granted entry.
