A first-time lottery player has claimed his $25 million prize three days after his big win.
The Sydney man presented his ticket to NSW Lotteries on Friday morning after checking the winning numbers on the internet.
He asked not to be identified but said he was “weak at the knees”.
“This is the first Oz Lotto ticket I have ever bought. I didn’t even know how to play,” he said in a statement on Friday.
“This win means myself and my family will never have any money worries again.”
He bought his 24-game Megapick winning ticket for $27.85 from a 7-Eleven store in Pendle Hill, in Sydney’s west, and was one of three people who each won $24.9 million from Tuesday’s $74.8 million jackpot.
The two other winners were from Adelaide and southwest of Melbourne.
