Fire prompts evacuation at Sydney motel

About 100 people have been evacuated from a hotel in Sydney’s west, after a fire broke out in the building.

NSW Fire and Rescue crews are attempting to contain the fire at the Log Cabin Motor Inn on Memorial Avenue in Penrith on Friday night.

“The fire has breached the roof,” Fire and Rescue spokesperson Chris Sedgwick said.

“At this stage we have six pumps, one aerial and at least two rescue units on the scene.”

No injuries have been reported.
