According to Press TV, on Saturday, Kurdish fighters advanced against ISIL terrorists in some parts of Kobani and gained more ground following clashes with the extremists.
Idriss Nassan, a senior Kurdish official in Kobani, said “Our fighters are focusing on advancing in areas towards the center of the town, and hopefully in the coming days, we will be able to announce larger advances.”
The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 13 ISIL terrorists and six Kurdish fighters were killed in the fighting.
The UK-based group also added that two civilians lost their lives in ISIL shelling on a refugee camp in the western part of the town.
Syrian Kurdish forces backed by Iraqi Peshmerga fighters have been fighting to drive the ISIL terrorists out of the border town, most of whose residents have escaped.
