Fears for missing Melbourne woman

Homicide detectives are now investigating the disappearance of a Melbourne woman who last seen in mid-December.

Zahara Rahimzadegan, 46, was last sighted at her Ashwood home around 2.30pm (AEDT) on December 16.

Police found her wallet and handbag at her house, in the city’s south-east, but her mobile phone was missing.

Police say Ms Rahimzadegan used the alias Mandy Ahmadi on social networking site Facebook, and may have also used the name “Glorious” on the site.

The Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation.

Inspector John Potter said police hold grave concerns Ms Rahimzadegan.

“It has been almost a month since she was last seen and we now believe her disappearance to be suspicious,” he said.

“Investigators would like to hear from anyone in the community who has information about her whereabouts.”
