“Since the start of this month, at least 50 people — including displaced persons — have been killed by presumed FDLR members under similar conditions,” the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said on Wednesday.
OCHA added that the rebel group killed 22 people only in one attack in the village of Kamananga in Sud-Kivu Province on Monday.
The humanitarian agency blamed FDLR rebels for the killings.
The FDLR and several other armed groups are the main sources of instability in the east of the DR Congo.
The Rwandan army and the DR Congo army are jointly fighting with the rebels.
