Families want return of abducted Iranians

The families of the 11 abducted pilgrims gathered in front of the provincial office in Lorestan on Saturday, asking authorities to follow up on the release of their family members immediately.

Unknown armed groups kidnapped 11 Iranian pilgrims in northern Syria in February. There is no news about their fate after about 40 days.

A number of Iranians, including engineers and pilgrims, has been abducted in Syria since the beginning of unrest in the country.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011.

Damascus says “outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups” are responsible for the unrest, which is being orchestrated from abroad.
