In a ceremony held at the Cinema Museum in Tehran on Friday, the collection of films that have won the Crystal Simorgh in the past 33 editions of the Fajr Film Festival was unveiled.
The event was attended by Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare Ali Rabiee, head of Iran Cinema Organization Hojatollah Ayoubi and cineastes who cut the cake for the 34th round of the festival, decorated with this year’s poster of the festival which shows Khosrow Shakibai, the popular Iranian actor who passed away in 2008.
Similar to the previous editions, the 34th festival is slated for February 1-11, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, Mehr News Agency reported.
Titled ‘On the Wings of Simorgh’, the collection includes a total of 33 movies, each the best of every edition.
Prepared by the secretary of the 34th edition Mohammad Heidari, it is a reminder of 33 years of Iranian cinema after the revolution.
“There is a message in the collection for the young generation of cineastes in the country, a reminder that where they are standing now is due to the contribution of veterans in the field and the success they achieved. The young can be proud of the path shown to them and they should try to raise the bar on their way forward,” Ayoubi said.
