Fajr art festival screens documentaries

Participating works should be related to one of the nine fields of visual arts including drawing, painting, graphic design, cartoon, animation, calligraphy, photography, sculpture and illustration.

The films should not be longer than 30 minutes, but there is no limit to the number of submitted works.

Experts believe that documentary films are important as they allow viewers to get more familiar with the directors and their views.

More than 200 artists from thirty-eight countries including Brazil, China, Indonesia and Turkey presented their works during the 4th Fajr Visual Arts Festival which kicked off on February 18, 2012.

This year’s festival also includes a new section titled ‘Islamic Awakening and Justice seeking,’ showcasing works inspired by the events leading to the Arab Spring.

Works presented in this section will be exhibited until March 15, 2012 while the 4th Fajr International Visual Arts Festival will run until March 4.
