A FACTORY has been destroyed after a seris of blasts led to a massive fire.
Fire crews were called to the scene following three explosions at the 15m by 20m brick building on Enterprise St, Norville at 9.42am.
Police evacuated a number of businesses.
It is believed the building was evacuated before the fire took hold.
One neighbouring business owner said Enterprise St had been evacuated while fire crews battled the blaze.
“There isn’t much by way of flames any more, but lots of smoke still,’’ he said.

“There’s lots of police as well and we’ve all been evacuated.
“We heard three big explosions.’’
A Department of Community Safety said the roof of the single storey brick building has collapsed.
The fire has been contained and all workers from within the factory are accounted for, the department of community safety has confirmed.
It took 20 firefighters working across six appliances about two hours to extinguish the blaze.
Police evacuated 12 people from the building before firefighters arrived.
One person was treated for minor heat stroke but was not taken to hospital.
The factory, which housed an automotive tyre fitting complex and an LPG gas conversion centre, has been extensively damaged.
Enterprise Street has been closed and traffic diversions are in place at the intersection of Maynard and Branyan streets and the intersection of Enterprise Street and Commercial Avenue.
The road closures are expected to remain in place for several hours.
