Such airlines as the Air France and Dutch KLM told Iran about their readiness to launch direct flights to Iran in the nearest future, according to the deputy head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Several European airlines announced they were ready to resume direct flights with Iran, the deputy head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said Wednesday.
“Such airlines as the Air France and Dutch KLM told Iran about their readiness to launch direct flights to Iran in the nearest future,” Mohammad Khodakarami said, as quoted by the Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development website.
According to Khodakarami, British Airways has also said it was ready to resume flights between London and Tehran, suspended five years before, within the next two months.
Earlier in January, UN, EU and US sanctions were lifted from Iran following Tehran’s implementation of its obligations under the nuclear deal signed with six world powers to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear program. The move has restored the Islamic Republic’s access to the global market.
