ESPN’s move into the world of sports betting has continued with the addition of more sports betting content and new roles for on-screen talent.
Over the last 12 months the Disney-owned brand have tested the waters around producing more sports betting content, having penned deals with DraftKings and Caesars to use their odds within their sports programming.
Although ESPN may not create its own online sportsbook, it looks clear that sports betting is here to stay on the global sports network.
“Fans are craving sports betting content, and ahead of and during football season we want to provide it to them,” said ESPN Vice President of Fantasy and Sports Betting Content Scott Clark.
“We have added some talented minds to the diverse and well-respected industry experts we already have, and are implementing new creative ideas into the mix. Now we’re just ready to watch it all unfold starting with football season.”
Doug Kezirian, who has hosted Daily Wager since its launch in 2019, has been named ESPN Sports Betting Insider. This new role will see Kezirian step down as the host of Daily Wager to become a regular contributor on some of ESPN’s biggest shows and radio shows, as well as having his own column on ESPN’s website.
Kezirian “That includes multiple betting columns per week on ESPN.com, such as last-minute football betting advice, insider perspective and picks on Saturdays and Sundays. He will also contribute similarly to ESPN Radio programming, particularly on weekends throughout the college football and NFL seasons.”
The new host of Daily Wager will be Sports Betting Analyst Tyler Fulghum, who will also continue to appear on SportsCenter and NBA Today alongside his new commitment. Joe Fortenbaugh will continue to appear on Daily Wager, as well as heading his own sports betting podcast.
Bet with Erin Dolan will be broadcast on Snapchat every Monday, Thursday and Sunday throughout the NFL season with the former FanDuel employee. ESPN Radio’s Anita Marks will appear once a week on Dolan’s show, as well as hosting her on betting show once a week on ESPN LA.
