Two prison escapees have been caught after a dramatic chase across Sydney in the early hours of this morning.
Geoffrey Brown and Christopher Little broke out of Oberon jail, west of the Blue Mountains, on Sunday, April 15.
Brown, 23, had been serving more than seven years and Little, 24, more than three years for violent robberies and other crimes.
Police say the men were in a stolen car which officers chased from Five Dock, in Sydney’s inner west, just before 1:00am (AEST).
A police helicopter took over the chase and the car was abandoned at Shalvey, near Mount Druitt, after a 40-kilometre pursuit.
Police then sealed off surrounding streets.
They found the escapees with another man in a backyard at nearby Blackett.
Brown was bitten by a police dog during the arrests.
The men are being held at Mount Druitt Police Station.
