Salehi added that the presence of foreign powers and their interferences in the region runs contrary to regional peace and stability.
“They are not looking after the interests of regional people and merely seek to serve their own interests. They use every measure to achieve their illegitimate objectives and interests,” he said.
The Iranian foreign minister described the numerous problems of the Palestinian people as the obvious example of such foreign interventions.
Salehi arrived in the city of Nakhichevan in Azerbaijan on Wednesday to attend the meeting with foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Elmar Mammadyarov and Ahmet Davutoglu.
“We can help the region’s development, stability and security through this tripartite meeting,”, Salehi said.
The first tripartite meeting between the foreign ministers of the three countries was held in the northwestern Iranian city of Orumiyeh in April 2011.
