Also dubbed “the Iron Lady”, Mrs Martini reigned supreme over the
Parisian cabaret circuit for decades. First she helped her wealthy Syrian
husband run his Pigalle venues then bought up a string of theatres after his
death, including the Bouffes Parisiens, the Mogador, the Comédie de Paris,
and cabarets, such as the Raspoutine and Shéhérezade.
