A 21-year-old man has been charged after allegedly assaulting his elderly neighbour in Sydney’s west.
Police say the younger man and his girlfriend had been arguing outside their Doonside home on Tuesday night when the 79-year-old went outside his house to see what was happening.
It’s alleged the younger man approached his neighbour and punched him in the face, forcing the elderly man to hit his head against a door.
He allegedly damaged his neighbour’s screen door before returning to his own home.
The 79-year-old’s partner called police, who arrested the younger man.
He will face Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and destroying or damaging property.
