‘El Chapo’ may be hiding in Costa Rica, son accidentally reveals on Twitter

Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, 29, has been regularly posting on social networks about his father, but this time he seems to have forgotten to remove the location tag.

The picture is from a restaurant in Costa Rica, and the local authorities are now checking if the notorious drug lord fled to the country.

“August here, you already know with whom,” the caption reads.

Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman is viewed as the world’s most wanted drug trafficker, and is considered responsible for the deaths of about 34,000 people.

Almost two months ago, ‘El Chapo’ fled a maximum-security prison in Mexico through a 1.5-kilometer and 10-meter deep underground tunnel, which began in his cell.

Guzman was imprisoned in February 2014, and his escape wasn’t his first: the drug lord was initially seized in 1993 and was sentenced to 20 years in jail.

However, he bribed prison guards, and was able to flee from a federal maximum-security prison in Puente Grande in 2001. He hid in a laundry cart.

To secure his second escape, ‘El Chapo’ may have reportedly paid as much as $50 million in bribes.

While some think the Mexican government could be implicated in the daring escape, authorities are offering a $3.8-million reward to those who help capture the notorious drug lord for the third time.
