Unknown gunmen shot dead a woman and her two daughters at their home near Baquba, north of the capital Baghdad, on Saturday.
A roadside bomb also killed a man and his son in the city of Tikrit, also located north of the capital. The bomb went off as the two were walking in the city center.

The Saturday shootings and bombings came as a wave of violence has swept Iraq in recent months.
On Thursday, the UN mission in Iraq said July was the deadliest month in years with 1,057 people killed and 2,109 others wounded.
Baghdad was the worst affected with 957 civilian casualties, including 238 deaths and 719 injuries, followed by Salahuddin, Nineveh, Diyala, Kirkuk and Anbar.
Bombings and shooting attacks have plagued Iraq since the US-led invasion of the country in 2003.
