Police have charged several people, including an alleged member of a bikie gang, during a 12-hour blitz in Sydney’s west.
Police searched pubs, tattoo parlours and the rail network around Parramatta and Holroyd from 4pm (AEST) on Friday until 4am (AEST) on Saturday as part of an operation targeting drug possession and supply.
They charged eight people with a range of offences including possession of a prohibited drug, street and traffic offences and assault.
During the operation, a man alleged to be a member of a bikie gang was charged after a search revealed he was carrying a small amount of cannabis.
Parramatta Duty Officer Inspector Matt Loneragan says more operations targeting drugs are in the pipeline.
“Officers within Parramatta and Holroyd Local Area Commands and the PTC will specifically target these crimes, and as seen in the overnight operation offenders will be caught and charged,” Inspector Loneragan said in a statement on Saturday.
“My best advice to anyone involved in the illegal drug trade, whether it be supplying or possessing, is to stop immediately before we catch up to you.”
