Meanwhile, the volume of petroleum imports in Aug. 2015 increased by 4.7 percent to stand at 920.5 million tons up from 879.4 tons in August 2014, according to CAPMAS report.

The local consumption of oil and natural gas in September 2015 stood at 6.191 million tons down from 6.194 million tons during the same month a year earlier.

Meanwhile, production of natural gas in September 2015 decreased by 10 percent to stand at 2.686 million tons compared with 3.011 million tons during the same period last year, according to the report.

Petroleum production in September 2015 decreased to stand at 5.62 million tons compared to 5.9 million tons during the same period last year, according to the report, consumption of petroleum products inched down in September 2015 to reach 6.191 million tons, compared to 6.194 million tons during the same period last year.
