FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda “The verdicts handed down to Hosni Mubarak, [former] Egyptian Interior Minister [Habib al-Adli] and Mubarak’s sons reveal the profound influence of the global arrogance and Zionism on the Egyptian judiciary and Egyptians must show more sensitivity toward this issue,” Mohammad Esmail Kowsari said on Saturday.
The lawmaker added that execution is the fairest verdict for Mubarak and his relatives due to the crimes they have committed.
“Issuing life sentences and acquittals for them shows that these people still have vast support of certain groups and [political] currents,” he noted.
Kowsari stated that the Egyptian people should know that indifference toward Mubarak’s court sentence will raise hopes among his supporters and pave the way for their renewed presence in Egyptian politics.
“By supporting Egypt’s former dictator, the United States, Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime [of Israel] are standing against the Egyptian people’s revolution to prevent their revolution from reaching its desired result,” he said.
On Saturday, June 2, former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak got life behind bars for murders committed during the country’s historic revolution in February 2011.
In a final court hearing in Cairo, the ex-dictator as well as former Interior Minister Habib al-Adli were sentenced to life imprisonment for the killing of around 900 protesters during the country’s popular uprising.
Mubarak also faced separate charges of corruption along with his sons Alaa and Gamal. But the charges were dropped.
The court also dropped charges against six other security officials, who were brought to trial for the killing of protesters.
The verdict sparked fierce clashes between the families of the victims and security officials inside the court while angry spectators called the court illegitimate and demanded that Mubarak be executed.
