Japan is Shoukry’s last stop in a two-country tour included South Korea ahead of President Abdel Fatah al Sisi’s scheduled visit to the country in early 2016.
On Thursday, Shoukry also met with members of the Japanese-Egyptian Parliamentary Friendship Association and discussed the latest developments in Egypt including the ongoing parliamentary election.
On Friday, Shoukry is scheduled to meet with representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Friday, he added.
In Seoul, Shoukry held talks with South Korea’s new prime minister, Hwang Kyo-ahn along with representatives from the Federation of Korean Industries Korea International Trade Association and Chairman of Hyundai Engineering & Construction, according to Abu Zeid.
