‘Ecuador supports Iran N-right’

In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi in Tehran on Wednesday, Patino said his country pursues peace and tranquility in the Middle East and closer ties with the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, referred to the good relations between the two countries and emphasized the need for closer relations, an Iranian Foreign Ministry statement said.

Salehi also praised the coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the international organizations.

He added that a recent visit to Ecuador by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was a turning point in the bilateral relations which proved the serious determination of both sides for the development of the ties.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, the Ecuadorian foreign minister is currently on an official visit to Iran.

This is Patino’s second official visit to the Islamic Republic.
