The institute has programmed to honor the winners of the 1st ECO International Festival of Visual Arts held in Iran on March, 2012.
The festival was held with the aim of strengthening and broadening the level of cultural exchange among the contemporary artists with a focus on the major theme of cultural identity in the works of contemporary artists from the ten ECO Member States.
The theme of the competition was Norouz, its customs and traditions as an ancient celebration observed in ECO Member States.
The festival’s selected works have been exhibited in the ECO Member State city of Almaty as well as French capital, Paris, so far. They are also to be showcased in Tehran, Dushanbe, and several other Member State cities.
A number of veteran artists such as Kambiz Derambakhsh, Ebrahim Haqiqi, Amrollah Farhadi, Seifollah Samadian and Arash Baradaran contributed to the policymaking and planning Board of the festival.
They selected some 180 creations from among 4000 submitted works from around the world in the categories of photography, graphic arts and caricature.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 29, 2012.
