FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Shanghai Daily said on Friday Shanghai Shenhua entered the final round of talks with Drogba.
A Shenhua board member, Zhou Jun, would hold direct talks with the 34-year-old player, according to the paper.
Shenhua’s new manager Sergio Batista boosted hopes Drogba might join the club.
Drogba, who would join his former Chelsea teammate Nicolas Anelka if the deal goes through, left Chelsea after helping the club to its first ever Champions League trophy last month.
Former Argentina manager Batista joined Shenhua, sitting ninth in the 16-club Chinese league, late last month.
Drogba joined Chelsea from Olympique Marseille in 2004. He scored 157 times in 341 appearances, making him the clubs fourth all-time leading scorer, while his 34 European goals are a Chelsea record.
