TEHRAN, June 29 (Shana) — A senior official with National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) said drilling operations in four oil and gas fields that Iran shares with neighboring counties have made 71.25% progress, showing a momentum in the operations.
Deputy Managing Director of NIDC Mehran Makvandi said the fields are Azadegan, Yaran, Azar and Phase 14 of the massive South Pars gas field that are located in south and southwestern territories of the country.
Drilling operations at South Azadegan oilfield have made 77% progress so far and will sew up by during the second half of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20, he added.
Operations in South Yaran oilfield are 82% complete and drilling of 13 wells have finished so far.
Moreover, NIDC is drilling 22 wells at Phase 14 of South Pars which have made 61% progress.
Drilling is Azar field is also 65% over.
The NIDC official said that 16 drilling rigs are operating in different spots at joint fields of which 14 are onshore and 2 are offshore structures.
