On March 15, 2013, as Lil Wayne remained hospitalized in Los Angeles, he received a number of visits from friends who were worried about his reportedly critical condition, according to MTV.com.
Cash Money CEO Birdman, Drake, and NBA superstar Chris Paul were at Wayne’s Cedar-Sinai bedside. TMZ reports that Birdman was seen outside the medical facility with his bodyguard, while Drake and Paul were photographed leaving the hospital separately.
Wayne was reportedly rushed to the hospital on the evening of March 12 after suffering numerous seizures. According to TMZ, he went home the next day, but only hours later a bodyguard discovered him unconscious on the floor. Sources told the website there was “evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released” from the hospital because codeine was found in his system.
MTV notes that some media sources have reported that the rapper was in such bad condition that he was “being prepared for his last rites.”
Despite such reports, Wayne’s verified Twitter account posted a message that read, “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.”
