Dot Marie Jones has insisted her Tweet last week about people being late to the “Glee” set was not aimed at guest star Lindsay Lohan.
“It had nothing to do with her,” the actress, who plays Coach Beiste on the FOX series, told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on the red carpet last night.

Dot explained that the Tweet, which read: “Gonna be a long day… Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things. Not cool! I’d rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late!” — was related to her own experience of getting to work too early.
“In a nutshell, I got to work early. And I said, ‘Do you want me to go to hair and makeup?’ I was an hour early, ’cause you never know with traffic and so they said, ‘Oh no, there’s some people late and blah, blah, blah. So I’m like, ‘Oh, God.’ So I went to my trailer, started watching TV. I was reading Tweets, and I said, ‘Oh, it’s gonna be long day, some people are late, throws a wrench in the day, extends everybody,'” Dot recounted. “I had no idea who it was and it turned into crap storm.”

The actress said she’s angry that some outlets took her Tweets and interpreted them as an attack on Lindsay, who plays herself (as a celebrity guest judge) in the upcoming Nationals episode of the FOX show.
“I love her,” Dot continued. “I had no idea who it was and it really pisses me off that the snakes that got a hold of that and turned it into some BS that it wasn’t.
“That’s not my deal,” she added.

As for Lindsay’s filming, Dot said the two didn’t actually get to interact much, but they did exchange greetings.
“I just said hi to her because we were kind of in the same scene,” Dot noted. “She’s a sweetheart.”

Dot may have had screen time with Lindsay, but at Tuesday night’s “Glee” screening event, many of her castmates revealed they didn’t share the stage with the actress.
“I didn’t work with her. I was there, but I saw her from afar,” Matthew Morrison said.
“I didn’t work with her… I read the script and [there is] some funny stuff going on in there,” Harry Shum Jr. told Laura.
“I saw her briefly, but it was a crazy episode for us,” Kevin McHale said.
“I just saw her in passing, she had a completely different route then we did,” Heather Morris noted.
