Dr. Terry Wahls learned how to reverse her accelerating multiple sclerosis using an evidence-based, functional medical approach that focused on nutrition alone. Using lessons she learned at the sub-cellular level, she used diet alone to cure her MS and get out of her wheelchair.
Let food by thy medicine, and medicine by thy food – Hippocrates
Our society has become so dependant on pharmaceutical drugs that we rarely contemplate healing through natural nutrients. I am a big believer that diet and state of consciousness is capable of curing any ailment in the human body. Unfortunately our medical industry spends very little time emphasizing the importance of diet, and spends a great deal of time pushing prescription medicine. Our medical research rarely studies the healing properties certain foods can have on the body and specific diseases. A plant-based diet alone can prevent over 60 % chronic disease deaths, you can read more about that here. We are seeing more people opt out of conventional medical treatments that have the potential to be harmful in order to experiment with more natural approaches. A man with stage 3 colon cancer recently refused chemotherapy and cured himself with a vegan diet. You can read more about that here. It’s important to look multiple medicinal techniques, rather than focus on manufactured medicine alone. The problem is there is so much emphasis on drugs that it’s almost as if it’s considered the only option. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Dr. Terry Wahls shared her story and the science behind it at a TED talk. It’s a great example of how food and diet plays a critical role with regards to certain ailments, and overall health. The human race has been subject to a great deal of misinformation when it comes to food. We are made to believe that certain substances are healthy for us when they’re not. A fruit and vegetable diet alone in the eyes of many would have us lacking in nutrients, this simply isn’t the case. Today, our food is littered with unhealthy chemicals and additives that have shown to be detrimental to human health. In the end, it’s all about making better choices in your life, and not believing things blindly without questioning them.
