Spotify is taking its music discovery service on the road with a live tour around the country with music from up-and-coming acts, the company told Mashable on Wednesday.
As part of a partnership with Bacardi, Spotify’s Big Green Bus will be making stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, St. Louis, New Orleans and Miami, with more pit stops to be announced along the way. This is the first time the music-streaming service has been a part of a live music tour.
The line-up includes artists such as Grouplove, YACHT, Kendrick Lamar, Graffiti6, Geographer and The Henry Clay People, all in just the first week.
Music lovers who visit the Big Green Bus will enjoy the Bespoke Bacardi VIP Bar, a giant interactive boom box that users can sync with their smartphones and a mobile photobooth to capture the occasion.
If you can’t make it to one of the tour’s locations, don’t worry — Spotify will continue to show love for its fan base online. A dedicated Spotify on Tour Facebook app will feature video of tour diaries and artists’ sessions, themed playlists and photos from the Spotify Instagram account. The tour experience will come to the web with photos from the mobile photobooth and playlists from the bus’ interactive boom box in the Facebook app, plus video content from the tour stops distributed by Yahoo! Music each week.

The tour kicks off Wednesday, August 8 in Los Angeles, where YACHT and The Henry Clay People will play an evening concert just outside of Silver Lake.
Spotify on Tour supports The Pablove Foundation, whose mission it is to fund pediatric cancer research and advances in treatment. The foundation also educates families and works to improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through hospital play, music and arts programs.
