FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda The United Nations says at least 1,129 people have been killed since Kiev launched its military operations three months ago against pro-Russian forces in eastern Ukraine.
The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) released the data in a report on Monday, saying the toll includes those killed as of July 26 and added that another 3,442 people have been wounded.
According to the UN report, the Kiev government’s “acceleration of” military operations in the east have resulted “in loss of life, property and infrastructure and causing thousands to flee.”
“The reports of increasingly intense fighting in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are extremely alarming,” said UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay.
“Already increasing numbers of people are being killed with serious damage to civilian infrastructure, which – depending on circumstances – could amount to violations of international humanitarian law,” Pillay added.
The UN official continued by saying the fighting in Ukraine’s eastern regions “must stop.”
Ukraine launched military operations in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Lugansk in mid-April to crush pro-Russia protests there. Violence intensified in May after the two flashpoint regions held local referendums, in which their residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of independence from Ukraine.
According to the UN, over 100,000 people are internally displaced due to the conflict. In addition, tens of thousands of others have escaped to Russia.
