The national holiday road toll has risen to 18 following the death of a five-year-old girl in New South Wales.
The child was thrown from a car after it crashed into a tree on the Pacific Highway at Broadwater, south of Ballina, yesterday.
The girl’s death takes the NSW holiday road toll to six.
Five people have died on Queensland’s roads, three in Victoria, two in South Australia and one each in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
