A 21-year-old man who died when his car crashed into a tree in central Queensland may have been trying to avoid hitting a native animal.
The Urangan man was driving at Gin Gin, west of Bundaberg, when his hatchback sedan left the road and hit a tree sometime between 5am and 6.30am (AEST) on Saturday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say initial investigations suggest the man have been swerving around a native animal before he crashed.
Meanwhile a 25-year-old woman was killed when her car overturned at central Queensland on Saturday night.
Police say the woman lost control of the car west of Proston at about 8.30pm (AEST).
She was pronounced dead at the scene and the forensic crash unit is investigating.
