Music legend David Bowie, who died earlier this month, has left millions to members of staff  in his will.

He also left instructions for his ashes to be scattered in Bali in accordance with Buddhist ritual.

The Mirror reports:

The 69-year-old singer – who died earlier this month after a secret cancer battle – reportedly left $2 million to his personal assistant and close friend Corinne “Coco” Schwab.

A further $1 million went to his son Duncan’s former nanny Marion Skene.

The rest of his money was divided, as expected between his family members.

The New York Post’s Page Six reports that David left an estate of around $100 million to Iman and his two children, with his Manhattan home going to his wife while their daughter Lexi was left his property in upstate New York.

In his will he also left instructions for his ashes to be scattered in Bali in accordance to the Buddhist ritual, according to his will which was filed in Manhattan on Friday.

The iconic singer was secretly cremated without any of his family or friends present.

He told his loved ones he wanted to “go without any fuss” and not have a funeral service or public memorial.

It comes as Ivo Van Hove, who worked with David on stage show Lazarus, recently said the star fought to live because he wanted more time with his wife Iman, their daughter Lexi, 15, and his son Duncan.

Director Ivo said: “I deeply felt that he really didn’t want to die.

It was a fight not against death but a fight to live.

“And living, for him, was being a real family man. He loved to go home, to be at home with his daughter, with his wife, his family.”

Meanwhile, the rock legend planned to release a “long list” of music after his death with the first album due out before the end of 2017.

The future releases are set to include never-before-heard music that could date back to his most creative period in the 1970s.

The prospect of more albums from Bowie gives a new insight into the level of planning that went into what would happen after his death.

Newsweek magazine reported that, according to a source close to the musician, there is a “long list of unscheduled musical releases that Bowie planned before he died”.

The music has supposedly been divided into eras but will not necessarily be released in chronological order.

In addition to Bowie’s own music, an original cast album for his off-Broadway play Lazarus is also in the works.

DAVID BOWIE has tied a record set by ELVIS PRESLEY almost 40 years ago with 12 albums in the new top 40.

Elvis fans dashed out to buy The King’s records following his death in 1977 and Bowie’s devotees have done the same to honour the passing of the rocker earlier this month (Jan16).

Three weeks after his death, Bowie’s final album Blackstar has scored a third week at the top of the charts, while Best of Bowie and Nothing Has Changed feature in the new top five, at three and five, respectively.David Bowie
