CSC gets FAA contract worth up to $91M

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — IT services provider Computer Sciences Corp. said Thursday that it received a cloud computing contract worth up to $91 million from the Federal Aviation Administration, as the government tries to improve productivity.

The contract is for one year, with options for six more years, CSC said.

Cloud computing is a concept referring to software delivered over the Internet, rather than licensed and installed on individual computers in company offices.

Under the terms of the deal, CSC will move the accounts of 80,000 users spread across multiple email systems to Microsoft Office 365. The FAA wants its employees to be able to access data from any device and any location.

Shares of CSC, based in Falls Church, Va., added 4 cents to $26.40 in late afternoon trading.
