Late Thursday, U.S. District Judge David Campbell upheld Gov. Jan Brewer’s executive order barring those illegal aliens who President Obama has shielded from deportation, under his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

In June 2012, Obama signed an executive order protecting most illegal aliens under 30 from deportation, even granting them work permits.
It should also be noted that while the DREAM Act order is only supposed to apply to those who were brought to this country illegally, as children–the legislation also allows for the White House to issue waivers for any and all regulations and qualifications, as the president sees fit.
An illegal alien advocacy group known as The Arizona DREAM Act Coalition filed the lawsuit against Gov. Brewer after she issued her own executive order.
The Associated Press reported:
Brewer’s lawyers argued that Obama’s policy isn’t federal law and the state has the authority to distinguish between immigrants with work permits who are on the path toward permanent residency and those benefiting from Obama’s policy.
The state’s lawyers argued Arizona isn’t violating its own policy by refusing to grant licenses to the immigrants in the program, because the youths haven’t been granted legal protections by Congress.
In the end, Judge Campbell agreed, thus adding to what has been a rather painful week for the Obama administration.
