FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda The Queensland government is spruiking how much money families will save through cost of living relief measures at the start of the financial year.
While many are concerned about how the carbon tax will impact on their hip pockets, Premier Campbell Newman says families will save thousands of dollars a year through changes introduced on July 1.
They include freezing the standard domestic electricity tariff – saving an average of $120 this year, and freezing car registration during the government’s first term.
Other changes include reintroducing stamp duty concessions for principal places of residence, saving up to $7000 on a family home and scrapping the former Labor government’s waste tax.
A medium sized restaurant would save $3000 a year as a result, Mr Newman said.
“Prior to the election, we pledged to do everything possible to reduce the pressure on household budgets,” he said in a statement.
“We have already started delivering on that commitment with the Cost of Living Bill – one of the very first bills we introduced into parliament, providing real hip-pocket relief for Queenslanders.”
Mr Newman and other ministers are holding a community cabinet in Townsville on Sunday and Monday.
